Accessing The Internet Via Edsa Free Wifi
Edsa Free Wifi Project
There are times when we complain that our internet at home is too slow and other times when it’s not working. For people who rely heavily on the internet, this is definitely cause for alarm. Furthermore, nowadays when everything is so fast-paced that every minute counts, having free Wifi anywhere you may be is a big deal and is quite useful. A lot of us take the MRT and sometimes spend a lot of time lining up, waiting for the trains to move and reach our destination. Now with the Edsa Free Wifi Project, we can access the internet all we want for free.
This Wifi Edsa project is in collaboration with the following agencies, companies and government units: NTC, the DOTr MRT 3, Metro Rail Transit Development Corp., Light Rail Transit Authority, Light Rail Manila Corp., Metro Manila Development Authority, Department of Public Works and Highways, Manila Electric Co., Philippine Reclamation Authority, the local government units of Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasay and Quezon City, A&A, PLDT-Smart and Globe.
The speed tests of Edsa internet were conducted by NTC Edsa using the OOKLA speedtest on July 06 and 07. Average download and upload speeds of 156.6 Mbps and 135.8 Mbps, respectively, were recorded. Ortigas station has the fastest download speed of 325.48 Mbps while Magallanes with the highest upload speed at 310.57 Mbps.
