Inauguration Of Negros Power’s Temporary Office In Bacolod City
Negros Electric and Power Corporation (Negros Power) recently made a significant announcement by unveiling its temporary office in Bacolod City. This strategic move symbolizes the company’s readiness to kickstart operations pending the necessary approvals from the national government. Situated on the 2nd floor of Robinsons East Mall on Burgos Avenue in Brgy. Villamonte, the office will serve as the hub for corporate and operational activities, as well as the customer care center.
Roel Castro, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Negros Power, underlined the company’s strong commitment to prioritizing consumer needs right from the start. He emphasized, “The opening of this office signifies our dedication to fulfilling our commitments to consumers. This office represents our headquarters and the consumers’ space.” Through a collaborative effort with Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) partner Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO), Negros Power is confident in its ability to deliver efficient services to the public.
Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer of Negros Occidental lauded Negros Power for its initiative, expressing optimism that the new distribution utility would elevate service standards, offering affordable rates and swift resolution of consumer concerns. Bacolod City Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran echoed these sentiments, foreseeing a shift towards a more dependable, efficient, and cost-effective power supply for consumers.
Negros Power has been diligently preparing for its operational launch, including tasks such as procuring essential electrical materials, training employees and helpline staff around the clock, and reinforcing its vehicle fleet through the sister company, MORE Power. These efforts are geared towards ensuring a smooth transition and a high level of readiness to cater to electric consumers in Central Negros effectively.
With the franchise law of Negros Power already endorsed by Congress and awaiting presidential approval, Roel Castro anticipates operations to kick off by August of this year. The company’s proactive measures and collaborative engagements with stakeholders underscore its dedication to providing top-notch and dependable power services to the region.
The official opening of the office was attended by key figures from consumer and business groups, CENECO managers, directors, employees, and other stakeholders. This event marks a significant step towards the realization of Negros Power’s mission to deliver quality electricity services to the community.
