Megaworld Introduces The Upper East, Bacolod’s Avante-Garde Central Business District
The Upper East is Megaworld’s Monster Project in Bacolod
I foresee people from other provinces relocating to Bacolod not only because of everything beautiful that it already offers but also because of what the future has in store for Bacolodnons. I’m talking about property giant Megaworld’s ambitious project, its building this year of The Upper East, Bacolod’s modern Central Business District.
The Upper East, Bacolod City’s “New Central District”
It’s 34 hectares big and will house residential condominiums, mixed-use buildings, malls (designed after the Central Train Station in Manhattan), commercial centers, contemporary office towers, and hotels. It’s also going to have a church, parks, and transport hub.
The township will be highlighted by a 30-meter wide, 6-lane Upper East Avenue, which stretches for around one kilometer, connecting Lopez Jaena Street to the Circumferential Road. Existing century-old acacia trees will be preserved to add character and design to the township.
Ms. Rachelle Peñaflorida, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Megaworld Bacolod, and Mr. Harold Geronimo, Megaworld Senior AVP and Head of Public Relations and Media Affairs
Located in the eastern district of Bacolod City, The Upper East is close to the Bacolod City Government Center, business establishments, and a resort. Megaworld is spending Php 28 billion for this and it’s going to take 10 years for the township to be built. The project is expected to create many jobs from construction, office and commercial centers employment, and the hospitality industry.

What’s even more interesting is that it’s designed to be flood-free, utilizing underground cabling system for power and utility lines, LED and solar-powered streetlights, fiber optic technology, drip irrigation system for landscaping, and water re-use facilities. Add to that its own biking network facilities and free public WiFi in most parts of the township.
The Casa de Emperador is another highlight of The Upper East. It’s a mixed-use structure featuring a unique architectural design.
One Regis
Another thing that Bacolodnons should look forward to at The Upper East is One Regis, a 9-storey residential condominium development, Megaworld’s first in Bacolod City.
One Regis, Upper East Township’s First Condominium Development
Located right across the township plaza and beside Casa de Emperador, this mid-rise condominium offers units ranging from Studio (up to 37 square meters), one-bedroom (up to 58 square meters), and two-bedroom (up to 73 square meters). There will be units with a lanai or balcony where you’ll have a view of either the township’s landscape or the amenity deck’s pool and indoor park.
One Regis will offer 212 exclusive units with first-class amenities
One Regis will have rows of commercial establishments at the ground floor, with their separate entrance from the outside while the second floor will have facilities like the swimming pool and kiddie pool, pool lounge and seating areas, gym, events hall, male and female shower rooms and a walk park.
One Regis have started pre-selling units so it’s high time to invest while prices are still relatively low. Their condominium units are priced from Php 2.5 million to Php 7.5 million.
