Southwall Magazine is now available in Bacolod. Launched in 2005 in Cebu City, this glossy magazine was in hiatus for 12 years but is now back with a vengeance as it presents an impressive line up of distinguished people and places for its sophomore edition. The Power Issue features a host of influential male business and community leaders in the south like Derek Dytian, John and Bunny Pages, Jason Atherton, Henrik Yu, Richard Gomez, Leo Locsin Jr., and Jonathan Lo who is the main featured personality.

The launching of the second issue was held last July 17, 2018 at Gallery Orange, an artists’ enclave in Bacolod City. Hosted by Rione Palacios, the managing editor of Southwall Magazine, the event was graced by distinguished government and city officials, leaders from Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), officials from the tourism industry, media personalities, Southwall executives led by CEO and publisher Caroline Tan Porras, Editorial Director Gavin Sanson Bagares, and Business Unit Manager Nikki Casino-Oguis.

The Southwall Magazine is available quarterly starting February 2018 at Php 200 per issue.
Taking center stage in Southwall’s second issue is Bacolod’s rising star Jonathan Lo. As the President and Chief Executive Officer of CM and Sons Food Products, Inc., makers of the famous Merzci Pasalubong products, he is a force to be reckoned with in the delicacies industry. Already a success in the fastfood and bakeshop business, within months Lo made improvements and changes in the entire industry starting with the packaging, distribution, and having a comfortable pasalubong center. The brand actively promoted Bacolod’s tourism industry and Merzci Pasalubong became a byword in local happenings. Merzci also has a tour bus that tour groups could rent.

Jonathan Lo’s passion for his business has rubbed off on other companies to also further improve their services. Everyone realized that this industry has much room for improvement and growth. Today, after 13 years of business, Merzci has more than 50 branches and all house their brands namely Merzci Breads, Merzci Pasalubong, Merzci Purified Drinking Water, and Merzci Snack Bar. They have stores around Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Panay and have many dealers around the country. This include sellers as far as Manila, Cebu, Tuguegarao City, and Zamboanga City. They even have products that are exported by international distributors to countries like Canada and the USA, and also in the Middle East. He is indeed one of the most successful young businessmen of Bacolod and Negros Occidental.
