Karaoke-inspired Singing Contest and OPM Bands at the Tunog Transcom Tayo Y2 Bacolod
Filipinos are known worldwide for having great singers. Most of us have an affinity for singing even if we cannot really sing because it is one way of de-stressing and passing the time. A lot of us also enjoy going to concerts and music festivals or simply watching singing contests on TV.
So it is no surprise that some companies hold music fests as a way for their employees to just have fun and let their hair down. It also enables employees to bond with each other, initiates a happy culture in the workplace, and promote work-life balance. One such company is Transcom Worldwide Philippines, Inc., a global customer experience specialist. They have more than 9,000 employees comprising five branches in the Philippines, delivering to international brands in different industries.
Tunog Transcom Tayo
Last September 14, 2019, more than 2,000 employees from Transcom Worldwide Philippines’ Manila sites gathered at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig City in celebration of the 2nd year of the company’s music fest dubbed as Tunog Transcom Tayo. The artists and bands who gave exciting performances were Mayonnaise, Chiquerella, Sponge Cola, Where’s Ramona, This Band, Ben & Ben, Aegis, and Ebe Dancel. A karaoke-inspired singing contest participated in by Transcom employees was also held during the event for the 2nd time.
According to Mark Lyndsell, Transcom’s CEO for the Global English Region, Tunog Transcom Tayo, the company’s annual music fest, is just one building block in the foundation that is Transcom Tayo and sits alongside their yearly CSR activities, their support for the LGBTQ community and HIV and AIDS awareness campaign in conjunction with The Red Whistle.

Tunog Transcom Tayo was also held at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City last September 21. In Bacolod, it was at the SMX Convention Center, SM City Bacolod last September 22. The featured artists who performed live were This Band, Mayonnaise, Ebe Dancel, Mojo Nova Band, and DrumSkin.
Tunog Transcom Tayo – The Viral Voice
Aside from the live performances, Transcom held The Viral Voice grand finals competition. There were four contestants and three of them were hailed grand prize winners. The champion was Paulo Malijan who bagged a Php 20,000 cash, a trophy, and other prizes. Other finalists include Joebert Olarte, 1st runner up; Romelyn Sumaya, 2nd runner up; and Wendele Cadagat, 3rd runner up.
